Marijuana, Amnesty for Deserters?

April 4th, 1974

Marijuana is it really harmful or should it be legalized? Geraldo looks into this question with the help of such experts as Keith Stroup, head of N.O.R.M.L., a doctor who advocates its legalization and a doctor who thinks it’s too dangerous. Included in the discussion is a live experiment where we give placebo marijuana to guests from the audience to see the psychological effect on them.

We raise the question of amnesty, should the boys be allowed to come home? A film segment on deserters in Canada and interviews in the studio with Gold Star parents and Major Carl McCarden. Geraldo also chats with folk singer and draft deserter Jesse Winchester, at home in Canada with his wife and baby.
