In an extraordinary front page investigation that runs several pages, the New York Times suggests strongly that a minor thug named Joey IPPOLITO may have aided and abetted O.J. Simpson on the night the former football great hacked his ex-wife, Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman to death.
Specifically, the Times suggests Ippolito may have disposed of OJ‘s bloody clothing and the military style knife he used to kill his ex-wife and her friend. Attempting to tie up loose ends, what strikes me is how hard the authors work to connect Ippolito to the bloody crime scene on Brentwood and the infamous killer, O.J. Simpson.
Many named have died since the savage crimes in June 1994, including Mr. Ippolito, making it difficult to credit the authors’ entertaining account, ripe though it is with colorful, petty criminals, gangsta wannabes, prison escapees, and serial snitches.
Because of the lack of further physical evidence, we are presented with no real ability to advance a story that has been an intriguing tale of jealousy and murder.
After covering the story for several years, I am left convinced that O.J. Simpson acting alone killed Nicole and Ron.
If only someone had found the knife.
