1991. Drama queens real and on stage, Cady McClain and Dan Lauria

July 2nd, 1991. Geraldo Rivera’s namesake talk show looks at the what and why of drama queens. Art imitates life, so we hear from the drama stars of TV.

“Well, you know when you were working…6 days a week, you really are living the soap opera. All you’re doing is memorizing your lines, working on your acting…”

We start with some drama in the audience, as a member asks the panel what their drama problems have to do with women in the ghetto. Joy Davidson PhD, Psychologist, explains that ghetto problems are real and they don’t need drama there. Star of All My Children Cady McClain is introduced where she reads a letter from an upset viewer of the show. Later in the segment we hear from The Wonder Years’ Dan Lauria as he talks about being attacked for something his character did in the show.

This day, Geraldo’s Television History.
