1975. Geraldo Riveras Good Night America show walks through this incredible childhood story, Jay continued life after his hands were blown off at 12 years old.
“…right after the accident, everything just looked dark for a few days…after the 22nd day in the hospital…I was out of the hospital and I went back to school…”
After the tragic incident Mr. Armes was told 6 months and then physical rehabilitation but he was back to school after 23 days. Attending college at the meager age of 15 he describes being so smalled and called Shorty — before he got the gun fitted to the prosthetic.
As the conversation continues he describes recovering Christain Brando, Marlon Brandos son, and trying to convince 5 Mexicali federal agents to accompany him. Mr. Armes eventually identified the hippie camp from the air and orchestrated the rescue. The conversation continues to his acting career and an unpcoming CBS series starring Jay himself, in which hell be the good guy.
Jay J Armes passed away in 2024, Christian Brando was recovered three years prior to this segment in 1972.
