1975. Chuck Norris is in studio, working with Bruce Lee and passion for martial arts

1975. Geraldo Rivera’s late night program Good NIght America hosts kung fu expert Chuck Norris, just after viewing the fight scene from “Return of the Dragon”.

“I wasn’t really an athlete in school…what I like about the martial arts..whether you are athletically inclined or not, you can still participate, you can be as good as you want to be…”

Mr. Norris describes working with Bruce Lee on that film and his early personal interest in martial arts. A few minutes into the segment karate man Rabbi Alex Sternberg is brought on set, telling his own story before the two fighters demonstrate their skills. The segment ends with Chuck Norris talking about intense focus needed in his discipline, then breaking two flaming concrete slabs on Rabbi Alex’s chest with a sledgehammer after Geraldo lights the match.

RIP Carlos ‘Chuck’ Norris, who passed away March 19th 2026.
