2001. A discussion about the Deni native peoples in Brazil, with two Greenpeace representatives

May 12th, 2001. On this day 24 years ago Geraldo Rivera is far into the Amazon Jungle, with an informal discussion about the Deni whom are native to that area. We learn about these peoples, their history, and how the concept of property ownership was explained to them.

This video is in the context of a foreign logging company purchasing Deni land, and the journey to re-establish native ownership over that land.

“Do you think that the movement to stop the exploitation of the flora, the fauna, the people of the Amazon jungle…did it start soon enough, or is it too late?”
