November 18th, 1997. Geraldo Rivera on his namesake talk show brings us this segment on the attempted murder of Ms. Han by her identical twin sister.
“Can you imagine what it’s like to be hunted by a murderer? And to have that murderer be your own sister, your own…evil twin.”
This clip begins with a few seconds of case coverage on CourtTV, before moving into the broad strokes and details of Sunny and Jeen’s early lives. Later in studio we wonder — is a case like this the ultimate betrayal of family ties?
We move to the west coast for live coverage of the trial where it happened in California. Many details of the case are laid out as we wonder if Sunny’s story is believable. Clips from a prior show with Sunny in studio are shown.
In 1998 Jeena Han was convicted of multiple crimes and sentenced to 26 years in prison. She was granted parole in 2018, with support for her parole from twin sister Sunny — the same sister she had plotted to murder.
The story has been featured in multiple books, documentaries and podcasts, as recently as 2024.
This day, Geraldo’s television history.
