June 25, 1996. Former world heavyweight champion of the world Tim Witherspoon is on Geraldo Rivera’s namesake show to talk about being a boxer who made millions, then a boxer who lost it all. We see some footage of a fight in the beginning of this segment.
“I’m never quittin’. I’ve never given up, ’til it’s over.”
Mr. Witherspoon talks a little about interactions with promoter Don King and what it was like coming back to Madison Square Garden to fight again.
Some of Tim Witherspoon’s last fights were in 2003 on the Thunderbox Heavyweight Tournament “Fistful of Dollars”. His son, seen in this video, competed in the welterweight division and owns Witherspoon Boxing in Pennsylvania.
