April 5th, 1994. Geraldo Rivera’s namesake talk show brings us ‘In Jail, On Sale’ as three attorneys and the boyfriend of Heidi Fleiss speak about their clients.
“Bill, how in the world do you pick your clients?”
William Kunstler, a New York attorney at this time representing the Long Island Railroad gunman, talks about how it works. He describes his clients as generally impoverished and inovlved in cases other lawyers won’t touch.
Continuing we hear from Ivan Nagys, a close friend of Heidi Fleiss. He speaks about their relationship as does Barry Slotnick his attorney. Who was in Heidi’s little red book and did Ivan know about her business?
The third attorney to speak is Eric Naiburg, at this time representing Amy Fisher, a minor who shot and killed the wife of her adult lover. He says the notoriety of the case did not equate to more money for him, his firm, or his client.
The segment closes with an audience member confronting Mr. Kunstler. A disturbed and inadequate childhood does not provide an excuse for murder.
