1993. The Runway 69 gentlemen’s club opens in Forest Hills, protestors with Guardian Angels

1993. In this exclusive stock footage we see some seconds of a woman dancing inside the strip club, before speaking to a protestor outside.

“We feel that it’s a bit of an intrusion coming into a community that’s always been quiet….we feel it’s improper to have it right here in this kind of area…”

After speaking to the community member about their concerns, we hear from local members of the Guardian Angels who were asked to come out. The feeling is that having a strip club in such a community-oriented area would cause an increase in criminal activity.

Runway 69 in Forest Hills, Queens, part of New York City, closed later in 1993 after pressure from local community groups.
