February 11th, 1993. On this Geraldo Rivera episode we meet Trish and her husband Les, now going by Leslie. The couple describe how this was not part of the plan.
“This is the husband and the father. Three weeks after Les and Trish were married, Les told his wife that we wanted to become a woman.”
Trish explains she knew he had a sexual past as a shemale, but that he had promised Les was going to be a man. Les explains that he had responded as a macho, egotistical ‘man’ due to family pressure and it just didn’t work. While she feels like he lied, Trish seems inclined to stick with her partner and says it would be no different than a lesbian relationship.
In 2026 gender transition procedures are far more common.
