1991. Tony Orlando joins studio to talk peace and patriotism, sings Tie A Yellow Ribbon

March 29th, 1991. Geraldo Rivera on his namesake talk show asks Michael Anthony Orlando Cassaviitis about his song Tie A Yellow Ribbon.

“Tony, many of us came home to yellow ribbons tied around oak trees, to welcome us home..”

Mr. Orlando describes doing a show at the Cotton Bowl with Bob Hope and the impact his song had on the 500+ POWs who had come home from Vietnam, how they approached the stage and began to sing. He goes on to detail the song being made and it’s lasting impact. Tony does an in studio rendition of the song to great applause.

Tie A Yellow Ribbon was a top in hit in many countries from the time of its release in 1973.
