1991. Geraldo Rivera on his Now It Can Be Told program brings us the story of an artist who ended up accused of child pornography.
“They came into my house, uninvited. Asked to leave, they stayed. They got a warrant after three and a half hours and seized virtually everything I owned…”
We hear how Mr. Sturges has artwork in museums all over the world, and does not consider his work pornographic. He details the FBI raid brought on by getting negatives developed and further demands the FBI made on him as a result. Also heard is an attorney for Jock Sturges, who intends to sue the government.
Following the raid described above, a grand jury declined to indict Mr. Sturges. Multiple states attempted unsuccessfully to have some of his books classified as child pornography.
Jock Sturges continued his career and published another work as recently as 2019.
