May 3rd, 1991. Geraldo Rivera’s namesake talk show hosts Kathleen Dorritie of Cherry Vanilla and others to talk sex with rock ‘n roll.
“Definitely. The higher up on the charts you got, the more higher caliber groupies hung out backstage…”
Jimmy Greenspoon of Three Dog Night is in studio and talks about the unlimited supply of women as his music got more and more popular. In fact, he goes on to claim that plentiful women was a driving force in choosing to become a rocker. After hearing from Mr. Greenspoon we move to Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan, aka Flo and Eddie of the Turtles. They talk about the change from ‘nerdy little high school guy’ to singing, and of course now the girls are coming around. Interesting history about one of their first tours and the start of the Turtles in 1965 is discussed. After the busy schedule of the bus tour era, the band had a lot more social time to play around..
The rock ‘n roll era has changed, but how about the groupie scene?
This day, Geraldo’s television history.
