1987. Boobs, zonkers, watermelons…women and their breasts, the obsession

November 16th, 1987. Geraldo Rivera on his namesake talk show brings us a history of the breast obsession — is it just men who care?

“When you think about big breasts, all it is is extra fat around the nipple….really this extra fat on the breast is of no use to the woman it’s very cumbersome…”

This introductory segment brings us the female form in history, a discussion with anthropologist Dr. Helen Fisher, and even a bit of historical insight from Charles Darwin — ‘women evolve big breasts for the same reason lions evolve big manes’.

We move on to asking everyday couples what they think before returning to studio and hearing from the experts, including Hollywood sex symbols Angeline and Edy Williams.

This day, Geraldo’s television history.
