1983. Eyewitness News presents a segment on sharks. We start off with cold facts, only about 120 reported shark attacks worldwide each year but they all seem to make headlines. The University of Miami operates a research ship and this is visited.
The segment moves on to moving sharks by guiding them with the fins. We hear the story of a shark that had it’s teeth removed and was supposed to be dead and used in a movie, but actually started moving around when it was put back in the water. Much more unique and interesting shark footage is shown.
The number of report shark encounters in 2025 is not much changed from 1983.
