1977. Geraldo Rivera on Good Night America hosts Shere Hite to talk about her book ‘The Hite Report’. Ms. Hite describes her reasons and goals for conducting the nationwide sex survey.
“70% of women do not experience orgasm during intercourse, now this does not mean that the women do not enjoy intercourse…they have other ways, of experiencing orgasm.”
Later in the segment we hear from Mary Calderone and Leah Schaefer, experts in their field as the conversation moves onto sexual freedom and what it means for women finally able to talk about sex.
The Hite Report was the first of its kind and Shere Hite remained a well known feminist.
Ms. Hite passed away in 2020.
