1975. The disco craze, a word in from Disco-Tex Sir Monti Rock III, Geraldo finds his groove

August 28th, 1975. Geraldo Rivera on his Good Night America program shows the best way to learn about disco dancing, through the act itself. We take a trip to mid-town where the music is strong, rhythmic, and hot – Le Jardin in New York City.

“Now it’s really open to everybody…and everybody’s doing it.”

At the club Geraldo checks out the moves and talks about the scene with Sir Monti Rock III, a man of Puerto Rican descent helping to bring disco into the mainstream. We learn about dancing all night and how this hip new trend is energizing the city.

Disco dancing and disco clubs were generally considered at their height in the mid-1970s to mid-1980s. The dance craze and music retain a place in American culture into 2025.

This day, Geraldo’s television history.
