After 3 seasons NBC cancelled Star Trek in 1969. The show remained popular enough to become syndicated, and has spawned a great variety of series, re-releases, movies, special editions and more for decades. Conventions where fans, or ‘Trekkies’ gather, continue to be held in 2025.
