1975. A comment about the CIA, revelations of LSD use on unsuspecting service members

1975. Geraldo Rivera, on his Good Night America program, addresses recent revelations about the Central Intelligence Agency. We learn of illegal LSD use on a man named Frank Olson, and it seems the agency just can’t stay out of the news. Also discussed is an army film showing service members before and after being dosed with LSD.

Frank Olson was an employee of the U.S. Army, who got dosed with LSD by his co-worker from the CIA in 1953. Nine days later he lept to his death from a hotel window in apparent suicide.

MKUltra was a CIA program used to identify drugs and techniques that could be useful during interrogation. The program was officially halted in 1973, but remains a shadowy chapter in American and military history.
