This interview takes place only a couple short months before Evel’s second attempt at jumping the Snake River Canyon, on his X2 Skycycle. We meet his family, see some of his past feats, and learn about the aspirations of this ‘Man of Extraordinary Courage’.
Robert Knieval’s second attempt at jumping Snake River Canyon in September 1974 ultimately failed, with the Skycycle’s parachute opening prematurely. He went on to break many records and many bones.
Mr. Knieval passed away in 2007 after a struggle with diabetes and pulmonary fibrosis.
A museum dedicated to the memory of Evel Knieval was opened in Topeka Kansas in 2017.
