August 15th, 1974. Geraldo Rivera on his Good Night America program hosts the co-stars of controversial TV series Bridget Loves Bernie, which depicts a mixed marriage between Irish-Catholic ‘Bridget’ and Jewish ‘Bernie’.
A couple of minutes into the segment Mr. Birney recounts a section at the end of the play Romeo and Juliet, when Romeo has gone to commit suicide. He recites some of the last text, “…which is not acting”.
The conversation continues to family life, personal matters, their children together.

David and and Meredith were divorced in 1989, and David passed away in 2022.
