1972. A live Marijuana smoking event, long before it was a legalized substance

1972. Geraldo Rivera, on his Good Night America show, invites two married parents, a doctor, and a psychologist onto the set. Dr. Burt from the Bellevue NYU medical center and Psychologist Jack recently participated in federally funded tests of marijuana and now administer the same to two on stage guests.

Iris & Anthony are both in their 30s, living separate lives, married with children, and not regular users of marijuana. We start with instructions on how to consume the pot, before both guests are instructed to light up.

The results are in toward the end of the segment — and a bit surprising.

In 2025, Marijuana is legal for recreational use in 24 of the United States, and medical use in 39.
