The sources were talk radio firebomber Mark Levin and the equally bomb throwing right wing website Breitbart, which does not make it false only suspect.

The issue is whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians. Since that is where the rubber meets the road, it would be totally legitimate for USA intelligence officials to surveil Trump officials suspected of making those contacts.
